Wide eyes and butterflies
February 1st, 2010This is a pal’s niece, Emily Rose, singing her own song Wide Eyes and Butterflies. Her dad apparently decided that he would send the demo to Radio Ulster and they played it. She has an amazing voice and this is well worth taking two minutes to check out. (Apologies if you already saw this on my twitter or facebook.)
Antony Gormley’s Another Place
February 1st, 2010I finally got my computer back late last week after its 6-week long illness, so I am now slowly but surely working through the folders of pics that have been put on the backburner over that time including this lot.
They were taken in Crosby, Liverpool which hosts the fantastic Another Place by Antony Gormley which is 100 cast-iron, life-size statues, modelled on the artist himself. They spread out over 3km of beach stretching out to the sea and are an incredible sight.
The day we were there, the sea was right in and the weather was absolutely manky which did make for a more interesting sky. So if are over in Liverpool make sure you pay a visit to Crosby beach, it is very special.
Photo auction for Haiti
January 28th, 2010I meant to post before now about a very important auction happening now with some Pixie photo buddies. Ronan and a couple of others, horrified by the earthquake in Haiti and the devastation in its wake, have decided to auction off some of their images to raise money for Haiti.
You can find out more from Ronan on his blog where he explains how the auction will work. The auction will conclude on Jan 31st, so you don’t have much time to get bidding.
You can see all the pics up for auction on Pixie.
(Alternatively you can donate money to the charity directly. The account details for the Gena Heraty Haiti Fund at AIB Westport are:
A/C Number: 11108008
