Experience Japan
Wednesday, April 14th, 2010It was such a beautiful day on Sunday I went up to Farmleigh with Elly and George for the Experience Japan day. Obviously the 8,000+ other visitors had the same idea as the place, and indeed Phoenix Park was as packed as I’ve ever seen it. So we had a dander around before heading back to my place for a lovely barbecue, I have been reassured that George’s lovely sauce and home-made Caesar salad dressing will be on the blog in the next while, do keep an eye out for them as they were yummy. Here’s some pics from the day, with more to come.
Black Hack
Sunday, April 11th, 2010This was taken in the front seat of a Belfast black hack, a black taxi that runs a particular route like buses and you share it with other people. You can see them driving up and down the road with prams hanging out the back of the boot, in fact thats something that visitors to the city always find mad, but its completely common place and actually makes sense as mammies don’t have to lift out children, bags and pack up a pram before jumping in. I’ll have to get a shot of that sometime, I actually don’t think I have one.
Spring in the yarden
Monday, April 5th, 2010Dáil protests – March 30th – April 1st 2010
Friday, April 2nd, 2010Following on from a suggestion from Suzy I’m going to try and do an ongoing series of photographs of Dáil protests. It is something I have covered many times already, but there have been times when there’s been a protest and I have no camera with me, I am determined, as much as I can, to capture them all,
I keep hearing people asking where is the public anger at everything that’s going on in Ireland at the minute and it is there, the constant stream of protests tell us that. Now if we could focus that anger that would be something else. We could always take a leaf out of our pensioners’ book.
You can see all the protest pics in Pixie and previous demonstration posts and I’ll be tagging this series as Dáil protests if you want to keep an eye on them.
So here is this week’s protests.
Tuesday – Residents Against Racism
Wednesday – Cuts in Special Needs Education
Thursday – Lone protester against NAMA
