A busy time for Dail protests

Monday, December 13th, 2010

I’ve been putting off getting up the most recent Dail protest pics, there’s been so much happening its hard to keep up. There are a few weeks to catch up with so here goes before I leave it for another day. They are mostly in chronological order, well as far as my addled brain can work out. As ever there are loads more images on Pix.ie.

And it snowed and it snowed and it snowed

Friday, December 3rd, 2010

Today was another heavy day of snow for Dublin. On the way home it was somewhat hard to negotiate the icy/snowy pavements and roads as it was never mind carrying a bag of shopping and trying to keep the camera dry in my coat. I’m already thinking of a shot I didn’t get this evening, even though it was there in front of me. But hopefully it will still be there and snowy tomorrow and maybe I’ll get it again.

There didn’t seem to be the level of chaos for people getting home tonight as last night. Our bus was still running, however slowly, and I was home in no time. Fair play to those transporting all of us about the place in this weather, I wouldn’t relish driving a bus in that weather.

Anyway here’s some shots from the day with more to come. And I am also behind posting my pics of Saturday’s National Demonstration but I will soon.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

I’m a big kid when it comes to snow – cold and wet feet aside. I think we were depraved deprived (eek) of real snow as kids and it has left a scar ;)

I haven’t really had a chance to get out and about and take pics. So this lot is literally taken to and from work, which was, as those of you in Dublin will know, mad this evening (Wednesday). I was lucky and walked from work into town to get the Luas and walked from the Four Courts to Stoneybatter. Some people had a really awful time getting home and I hope at this stage for them it is all a distant memory.

I’m sure I’ll be sick of the snow soon, and I’m sure I won’t like the gas bill but hey Dublin’s all pretty.
