Last week was the first week back for the Dáil following the summer recess and the protesters were back in full force. It started Tuesday with people protesting against a visiting delegation from China, the second pic shows the subject of their ire travelling past, while the third is a man showing his opposition to NAMA and the prescription levy.

On Wednesday thats when the real show began with the Dáil coming back and all manners of protesters taking to the streets. There were people highlighting cancer screening, the anti civil partnership group, the families of children who’ve died in HSE care, the ICTU march, some anti-choicers including old heads from Youth Defence, Godly people, community groups and more. So the last lot of shots are from that motley crue and as ever there are more protest pics from last week on Pixie.

Apologies for the blank blog but there is maintenance work going on in Pixie. Normal viewing will resume shortly. In the meantime you could have a look at the many great blogs on my blogroll.

While we wait lets slop in some mud – from the National Ploughing Championships and from a future post

On Saturday morning I was delighted via Dublin Blog to get an invite to Dublin Zoo to see the goings-on as the zoo wakes up in the morning, it was a great morning and I will be post some pics from that here and on Dublin Blog later. On the way home I spotted a group of people having an outdoor yoga or meditation session and was also taken by the benches scattered around the place for summer visitors to watch what’s happening in the band stand. The benches look like they’re waiting for something, probably next year’s summer or maybe they’re just watching the yoga.

Last week this amazing rainbow ended a day of awful rain here in Dublin and judging by the twitter reaction everyone around Dublin could see the same fantastic sight.

Over the next while I’ll be posting pics from our two days in Mullaghmore in Sligo. We woke up on the first morning to see bouncy castles and stalls being set up, with the main attraction of the day being the donkey derby. It was mighty craic altogether so this first pic is from one of the donkey derby races.
