Love Etc competition <3

February 12th, 2010

The Body Shop is running a photo competition on the theme of love to coincide with the launch of their new perfume, Love Etc. All you have to do is upload your photographs depicting love to their Flickr group; there’s also a Facebook group.

To launch the competition I was out at Dundrum Shopping Centre with Gingerpixel last week where shoppers had their photographs taken for entry in the event. (Kyle has also blogged about it.) You can see some of the pics from the day below.

The winner of the competition will receive dinner for 2 in the Roly Saul restaurant in Dundrum as well as a mega Body Shop goodie bag. (Unfortunately I was given a box set of the perfume myself which I promptly left behind me in the shopping centre, ah well at least someone got a surprise if they picked it up.

So what are you waiting for, start uploading your pics of love <3

Wide eyes and butterflies

February 1st, 2010

This is a pal’s niece, Emily Rose, singing her own song Wide Eyes and Butterflies. Her dad apparently decided that he would send the demo to Radio Ulster and they played it.  She has an amazing voice and this is well worth taking two minutes to check out. (Apologies  if you already saw this on my twitter or facebook.)

Antony Gormley’s Another Place

February 1st, 2010

I finally got my computer back late last week after its 6-week long illness, so I am now slowly but surely working through the folders of pics that have been put on the backburner over that time including this lot.

They were taken in Crosby, Liverpool which hosts the fantastic Another Place by Antony Gormley which is 100 cast-iron, life-size statues, modelled on the artist himself. They spread out over 3km of beach stretching out to the sea and are an incredible sight.

The day we were there, the sea was right in and the weather was absolutely manky which did make for a more interesting sky. So if are over in Liverpool make sure you pay a visit to Crosby beach, it is very special.
